Recall of electric fireplace remote control receiver

I purchased a new 2010 Cardinal 3625 with the LX and Redbird package. I received a recall notice on a module on the electric firelplace. I am many miles away from a Cardinal dealer. How difficult is it to remove the fireplace and replace the remote control receiver? So far I love our new Cardinal and am happy with the features and quality.

I had to replace the heating blower element on my fireplace. This is a very easy job. Removing the fireplace is as simple as removing two screws. Entering the fireplace chamber is also easy. You might want to make a written notation of what the wire connections were. That solves experimenting because you do not remember the connection pairings.

meagleman, I have the same Cardinal, but I did not get a recall! Can you give me more information so I can make an inquiry?

meagleman hasn't been back to the site since 2011. You can try PM'ing him and see if it goes to his email. Otherwise, you may want to check with your warranty rep for Cardinal.

How nice of you to check on that and point it out. I never would have paid any attention to the dates. This doesn't affect me all, but just thought I'd point out a good deed.
