Tires

Hi guys, wanted to get opinions on tires for my 2017 3825FL. Iím going to replace them after our seasonal closes up. Iíve currently have the Goodyear marathons. Iíve had no issues with them. Probably have 2500 miles on them.

That is what I have on a 2018 3825FL. They are rated E.

our 2015 3825fl came with goodyear g614. they are load range G. they are rated to carry 3750 lbs when inflated to 110 psi. when hooked up our trailer axles are carrying about 6300-6400 lbs each. i am simply stating what we have. i have no experience with any other tires. the g614 are not inexpensive. i have also read many good reviews about the sailun 637 (i think that is the right number). also make sure your rims are rated to carry any tire you are considering. we have rims rated to 110 psi.

get your trailer weighed and get the axle weights. knowing this will help you decide what your tires have to carry and how close you are to their max.

Why replace?

They are only 2 years old and low miles?

Are they cracking in the tread etc?

If you want to just because, that’s fine.

Stop by a tire shop you trust and let them help you make an informed decision if you are unsure.

Marathons have a poor track record. Think I would replace them also. Maxxis M8008 or Goodyear Endurance seem to be the best performing ST tires for my local group of RVers.

I wouldn't trust those Marathon's around the block.

Some friends of mine went way up in northern Canada two summers ago and their smallish TT (22-footer) came with Marathon's on them.

They lost three of them on that trip (along with fenders on both sides)...

Then, they lost an axle up there and wound up getting two new upgraded axles, and in the process had to get new wheels and tires.

All they could get was Goodyear Marathon's as they had lost half of their trip getting their trailer fixed and had to get home, so couldn't wait for any special ordered tires to arrive.

They lost three of those new Marathon's coming home.

Somehow when they got home there were able to get some kind of settlement with Goodyear and now have the Goodyear Endurance tires on their TT.

When I saw them last summer in Albuquerque they were very impressed with the Endurance tires.

Tires are in good shape but I donít have much confidence in the marathon. Although my local RV shop said marathon had a bad batch of tires and he runs them on all his rentals and never had an issue. I plan on making a long distance trip in the fall and for a few hundred bucks Iíd rather have peace of mind than looking out the mirror every 2 seconds seeing if I have a tire going down.
