Toilet blowback

I have a 2010 Cardinal 3625 , when I flush the toilet it has like a blowback presure. I checked the vents anyone have any suggestions on whats going on.

I can't think what else would cause the tank to become pressurized other than a blocked vent pipe. Have you had the vent cap off and shone a flashlight down the vent?

Are you talking about a "burp" from the holding tank or the pressure of the water coming out of the toilet when you flush it?

If you are talking about the tank seeming to be pressurized I had this same problem about a year and a half ago. First off remove the vent cap and make sure the vent is not blocked. You can do this by opening the black tank drain valve, insert a water hose and see if water flows out the drain. Be careful, if the vent is blocked you may get wet. If you are not able to use the water method you can insert a long piece of romex into the vent line to insure the line is not blocked. I believe my problem was that I was not using the geo method frequently enough thus allowing some waste to remain in the tank and partially block the vent. Hope this helps.

One cause for this has happened before, the roof vent extends too far into the tank. If the level reaches 1/3 or whatever the vent is now sealed off. Normal air can no longer escape up the pipe. Just normal warming of the coach during a sunny day will be enough to begin pressure in all tanks if not vented. One way to check is to fish the vent from the roof on the low side of the coach. use a l braket on the end of your line and try to catch the side of the pipe where its open to the tank. Mark your line carefully with a reference line. Compare over the side of the camper to the main floor level, the tank should begin just below. If the meaurments indcate the pipe is longer than the floor its submersing early in use.

I'll get a toilet burb when I'm very close to full capacity with the black tank, once I empty a portion, burb goes away...if that's your problem.

I have the same issue with my Silverback. When I flush, so much water pressure has built up it will shoot out over the top of the bowl. Just the fresh water, not what is in the bottom of the bowl. To prevent this I always turn on the water at the wash basin for a couple seconds to release the pressure and then I flush the toilet.

Sounds to me, that the water flush valve could be bad. A little dirt in the valve can cause all kinds of problems, letting to much water flow thru the valve. I would contact the manufacture and tell them your problem. Most toilets have a three year warranty. They may send you the part to remedy your problem, at no cost to you.

The flush valve originally had a small port hole to route water to the bowl rinse outlet. It was susceptible to clogging due to anode bits and calcium nodules in the water. Newer toilet flush valves have a larger diameter hole that resists clogging; but as you can see it increases the volume of water released during a flush. Higher water pressure makes this worse. Using a pressure reducer on your incoming water source (if using city water) or turning down the pressure on your on board water pump (might make your shower's less satisfying in both cases though).

If you look at my installation of a lever type shut off valve in the incoming water line to the toilet, you can partially close that valve to reduce the volume of incoming water to a point where the flushes are more manageable and keep water off your pants when flushing.

Good information there Herk. However the problem will have to get a lot worse before I would even think to attempt a repair. I'm not one of those fix-it kind of guys. Normally when I try to fix something the problem is usually magnified tenfold when I'm done. Then I have to call a repairman.

Same here, mine only "burps" when its full or very close to full

Now we know its a water supply problem, not exhaust, how bout a simple water press regulator. It only will happen iin CG with high water pressure esp off season. I've had it happen also.

A much easier question related to toilets. I think the slide valve is leaking too much and will not hold water in the bowl, eg full bowl drains in less than an hour. Too much right? Service is saying "We'll.....you know they won't hold like a home commode.... DUH! My old camper held antifreeze all winter long.
