What a mess
We bought a one owner Cardinal 5th wheel and the previous owner must have hit hard on the back end and dented the motor and bending the rod from the motor to the long rod that turns on the rear electric landing gear. Well, that piece that goes on the motor and through one of the gears inside the motor broke in half. I contacted Lippert and the motor comes from India. You can't get just the pin that goes through the gear. You have to buy the whole motor to the tune of 485.00! Suggestions?

Do you have specs on the pin? (or the pin itself).
Most good machine shops should be able to fabricate a duplicate for less than that amount.

Pics?
Are the broken pieces all still there?
Is it something you can have welded back together?

If you are talking about the rear stabilizing jacks, they can be replaced with nonelectric jacks for a lot less money.

Is this the unit you have?
I have my old one from a mishap some years ago.
Might be able to do some horse trading.

Yes, thats it exactly. I don't have a crank to do it manually. What kind of deal do you propose? For the motor and the crank.

True. It would just be nice to have that option of pushing a button. We have only been camping in it one time.

Thats possible. It looks like I have a couple of options. We are going to take it to a machine shop and also see what Lou has to offer.

Here is a picture. With the motor and rod being in a bind, it broke right off. I guess the twisting eventually did it.
Sorry...first time attaching a pic.

without going out and looking at mine, can it be welded? they may be able to do that for a lot less. if the bulge of a weld is unaceptable, they can grind it back down.

A small Job shop should be able to make a new shaft for alot less than what they want for a new motor from the looks of it should be a piece of cake!!!!!

I think I will be able to help Annette out.
I have a spare motor assembly with about 3 foot of cable on it from my "mishap" when the camper was new.
