Cool Wi-Fi getting connected need advice

The LippERT One Control controls a lot of our RVís functions. The WiFiranger is supposed to hook up to the One Control. But, we have been unsuccessful in getting the WiFiranger to find even strong internet such as when we are parked in front of our house.

Lippert One Control Wi-Fi Gateway Hub:

hmmmm...why would the Wifi ranger need to 'hook up' to the OneControl? The Wifi ranger is already it's own 'self contained' wifi extender/antenna and router, right? Why wouldn't you just turn on the Wifi ranger, find a outside signal to attach to(rv park's, McDonalds, etc), and then use it's own signal as the Wifi that each of your devices and phones attach to?

YouTube Wifi Ranger setup. Itís easy and works great. It does not hook up to One Control. They are separate systems
