Airflyte Re-issue A/C revisited
I gave up trying to replace the Frigidaire 5000 BTU with a few more BTU and bought a portable 14,000 unit. I'm venting it through the roof vent after making a adapter out of sheet metal and weather sealer. You'd think 14,000 BTU would make it freezing cold in there, but I have discovered that this trailer must be terribly insulated. This big portable unit can keep a small area around it and in the direction the fan is blowing at the set temp, but walk 3 feet away from the back and the temp is 4 deg or more warmer. I have ensured that none of the exhaust from the AC is leaking around my adapter or from the hose.
This trailer is a terrific looker, but I have to ask: are all travel trailers this badly made? Or does one just have to spend a lot more money than this thing cost us?
