Frustration with 2017 Phoenix

My Phoenix 34RD has been in the shop several times with warranty issues and most have been taken care. There are two however that I'm not happy about.

First - I towed it for the first time in significant rain only to discover that there is a good amount of water in the floor when I arrive at my destination. It is on both sides of the opposing slides which cover the wheel wells. The dealer says that's normal!

Second - As I sit the dining table (rear dining) I can see a dime size hole of daylight on the opposite slide. Dealer also says there is nothing that can be done with it.

Each trip I take, I return with at least a half dozen problems, most small. Each time I hope that it's less, but I just took it in with 13 items on the list and a month away from warranty expiring.

We have a 2016 Shasta Phoenix that needed every window resealed after we bought it. We videoed the rain streaming in during a storm and it was taken care of. No leaks since. We had a very long list for problems and the dealer had to get the warranty department at FR Shasta involved with many pictures and a lot of time. My DH ended up with the direct number to the Shasta warranty guy and finally feel like we have a solid rig.

Yes, I have been in contact with Shasta and they assure me that water inside is not normal!

Didn't they discontinue the Shasta Phoenix after 2017? I am trying to find an 18 but cant

A nationwide search on RV Trader reveals that there 23 2018 listed. Just hope they have improved their QC.

I looked really quickly but didn't see any will look again not a fan of their new colors but they have some nice layouts just like the PrimeTime Crusader we have

It wouldn't surprise me if they discontinue it. We needed a trim piece and Shasta couldn't supply it.

I don't even see 2018's shown on their site just 16's and 17's so I am guessing they are not selling well and may wind up being dropped? Don't really know but they have less and less of a market these days, I did love my 2012 Shasta Revere 27RLSS, great TT no problems with it

I can't understand how FR can execute this line so bad! On the way home from the last trip, I had someone track me stop me in a parking lot and start the conversation: "I have a Phoenix too - have you had any problems?" They then began to tell me their nightmare, which was as bad or worse than mine, only all different issues! I wrote a letter to Shasta, asking them to extend my warranty, with no reply. I think I'll kick it up to FR. Anyway, thanks for listening.

I'm still trying to get past the part where the dealer said water inside of the camper is normal.

Remember, Shasta is an independent division of Forest River.
Not like the FR in-house brands.

You may have to contact Shasta directly.
