We have a 2015 F250 4X4 with the 6.7 diesel. It has 3.31 gears and we are getting around 20 (at 55-60 mph) highway and 12 towing the Blue Ridge. The higher gears are being used by some of the truck manufacturers due to the higher horsepower rating of the engines. The upgraded 2015 6.7 PSD has 440 hp and 860 torque.

On my 2013 dually with 3:73 gears and 4x4 pulling our 2013 40' Wildcat 5th wheel depending on wind and roads we average between 9.4 to 11mpg. I usually pull at the speed limit around 70MPH.
And no, I don't have 62mph rated ST tires on my trailer.
If your looking try to go with a 2013 or newer, there were some issues that seem to haunt the 2011 and early 2012 production model year trucks. I have been very pleased with my 2013.

Yes I test drove the new F350 2015 Model just trying to see if it would be worth trading my F150 with the EcoBoost engine to be able to pull more than 11,200 lbs but I heard new 6.7's were getting MIS 20's highway 16 around town and 10-12 pulling. I get 24 hwy 7-11 pulling and 16-18 combo driving and my trailer is 1/2 my town rating new trailer is 9,000lbs on a 5th wheel

The F350’s for the years 2008 – 2010 have the 6.4 liter and the 2011 and newer have the 6.7 liter so different MPG with these two. I usually average 10 MPG when towing with my 6.4. I understand the 6.7 powerstrokes get better mileage.

They say the more miles you put on the vehicle the better the economy. I have less than 5k and I am getting about 15 to 16 empty and 9 to 10 towing. I would expect to see 20 empty and 12 towing as the PS breaks in.

I traded in my 2013 F150 FX4 Ecoboost on my 2013 F350 FX4. I did appreciate my F150, it has more interior room than the F350 and the ride was exceptional with my leveling kit and Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks. The performance of the Eco is impressive also.
But, all that being said, I by far enjoy, appreciate and work my F350 much more than the F150 ever provided me.
Of course I have been driving Superduty trucks with various diesel and PSD drivetrains since 1997, so they just feel right to me. Kind of like those perfect fitting Levi jeans, old well worn cowboy boots or leather gloves that you have owned for way too many years. There just non replaceable.....LOL!!!!

Get a Chip or Tuner, your mileage will go way up and you will not lose any performance. I run 22-24 mpg day driving, 14-16 towing. I have 165,00 on the clock. I have a Super Chip and it is fine with me. Talk to some guys on this forum to fix up and 'spend your money'

My 2 cents
With 2013 F-350 w/ 6.7 SRW I'm getting 10-11 pulling 40' fiver and get 22 around town without! I was surprised to see it go up a bunch after crossing over 10K miles (yes...it's only got 10.5K miles...I'm saving it for retirement LOL). VERY pleased with mileage and just about everything else...it just pulls and pulls and pulls.
PS. Get the best hitch you can...makes an incredible difference!

Which Hitch I was looking at the Reese 26K? Even though max trailer I will get is 12500#'s also looking at 2015 F350 with Crew 4X4 6&3/4 foot box. Which gears are best for Mileage 3.55 is what I have now in my 150
