12V Electric Dolly
After many times fighting to get my camper in and out of our backyard, I decided this was the best way to go. I always had to find a neighbour or my wife to give a guiding hand to get it thru our 30' long garage to the backyard. The garage has a door at each end and the back one is a foot narrower. I only have about 3" on each side and if the camper got out of control, on the grade, it would be disaster on the side(s). To get it out from the back yard I was using a 12V winch attached to my SUV at the front door, as it was difficult to push it thru manually. On one attempt the tow strap did come apart at the hook end and this was an unused strap, poor quality. I didn't want to trade in my wife for a much stronger one. This should solve my problem.

That is really cool Don. What a great device.
I have trouble maneuvering my trailer in my driveway with my tow vehicle. I just can't see around or over the trailer. I use my Kubota tractor with a hitch on the back which gives me much better visibility. I guess us old guys need all the help we can get!

How much tongue weight and gross weight will it handle? Would it work on a compacted gravel drive?

Here's one that I purchased. It'll hold 1800 lb tongue weight. http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...lly-92912.html

It's rated at 550lb tongue weight and 5,000lb pulling on the level. As mentioned by Dave above, you would likely have problems with the small castors on a gravel drive.

Guys,
I am using Travel Valet https://www.trailervalet.com/ to park my FlagStaff T12RBST in garage for last 3 months. It is really great product and works perfect.
Thanks,
Paresh

A-frame Don - please post product name/model, and any purchasing information. Trailer valet bushings have disintegrated on valet I purchased less than 2 years ago. Looking for something a little more robust.
Thanks!

I've got an AC 10 Powermover I am trying to sell that i used to move my V-lite and a toy haluler before that. Traded for a 5th wheel which is way to heavy for the Powermover. Picutres in the Classifieds. Would be willing to travel and meet anyone if I could stay under 4 hours travel time.

The powered dollies I had found in US are definitely pricey. That is why I went with the trailer valet. Aframe Don's dolly looked more in line with what I need for power and now I know it is priced right too, actually less than what I paid for the trailer valet. It has a longer handle so hubby wouldn't have to be bent over in half to operate. May be a good excuse to take a trip 'up north' and over the border.

I also use a powermover and have for the past 8 yrs. Yes they are pricey, but compared to back surgery they are inexpensive. I can put my 7500 lb TT within 3 " of my garage with one hand. One suggestion to the OP. Purchase a female Bargman connector and wire it thru a switch so you can use 12V aux line ( battery on TT) to activate the brakes if you have electric brakes. Comes in real handy if TT starts to roll.
