Question 2013 A122BH, Water Tank Question

I just purchased a 2013 A122BH. Just waiting for warmer weather for the first outing. I just have a question of curiosity. My water tank is installed just behind the rear axle. I have noticed some posts that indicate A122s and A122BHs have water tanks installed in front of the axle. Is this correct? Has Rockwood made a change? I like having the tank behind the axle...heavier trailer with a full water load but a lighter tongue weight. My manufacture date was 6/2012.

I can't answer your specific question about the location of the tank and any design changes made, but I can tell you that a lighter tongue weight is not always your friend...you can find your trailer swaying and fishtailing if its too light. Make some test runs with the tank empty and full and be ready when its full!

I can't say about other A-Frames but the tank on my 2012 A126S is behind the axle. I can only assume that the placement of the tank is due to the center of gravity of the A-Frame. I myself due not travel with a full load of water due to weight, if I am going into a remote place with no water, that's a differant story, tank is full.
Enjoy that new A-Frame.

I always wondered why my fresh water tank was forward of the axle .. .it just seems to be an error done by the designer/manufacturer.... due to hitch wieght. My previous popup trailer had the fresh water tank just above the axle .. which i thought was a great idea .. as it is a no brainer to pack it full .. or empty.
Anyways .. i can see the logic ... the manufacturer has addressed the issue of hitch weight, and pretty well modified the plan .. for safety reasons.

Our A126 has the fresh water tank before the axle. I can only assume that your water tank is located behind the axle towards the rear of the camper due to the fact of evening out the distribution of weight because of the added frame length. Thats my guess and I already know what assumming gets me...LOL Enjoy the camper!! :-D
