2016 A214HW Roof leak again

I have an A214HW and it keeps leaking in the same spot for the last two years and I bought it new. I also have had it supposedly repaired. Where the roof connects to the pop up. Does anyone know if there is a recall on the 2016 A214HW's for a roof leak in this area? Thank you in advance.

Is your camper leaking at the hinge where the dormer roof connects to the aframe roof? That just happened to me during a hard rain. Never happened before and doesn't seem to leak when popped down. I suspect that water is pooling on the dormer roof and getting through the caulk someplace.

Is your 214 leaking when popped down?

Yes my A Frame is leaking at this point when popped up. I checked the seal in this area and the were small hole through it. I sealed it with Celco 2300 RV seal. The rain is testing this out right now. When I went to the RV place to get the seal; they said that this is a spot that is notorious for leaking. They said there is one way to fix it is put Eternabond tape over it. Got to see if this works.

Good information, thanks. I've read that that stuff is good to prevent leaks around dome window also.

My little aframe has given me a hard time with leaks near the mattress. I have sealed around windows with Flex tape, but still leaks. Do you think I need to replace the black seal at top of roof?

It would take a real hard rain hitting the roof apex gasket to allow water in. Most of the leaks come from the skylights and roof fan trim. What type of tape did you use to seal skylights. I used Eternabond tape when mine was new and have never had any leaks.

Flex tape?

try eternabond... get it on amazon...

Just checked my roof the other day and the Eternabond I put on two years ago looks brand new.

Has anyone used eternabond to cover the hinge seal where the dormer roof attaches to the aframe roof?

call Tim Braumbaugh at forest river 574-642-8944 or email tbrumbaugh@forestriverinc.com. They need to know of your complaint. If it leaked since you bought it it should be under warranty. request where you bought it to pressure test it for leaks. My unit is at the dealers a third time. this last time they pressure tested it and claim they have resolved the problem. Still waiting to get my camper back. Time will tell. The problem starts at the assembly of the units. Told company if not resolved this time Im taking back to the Forest River.

Yes I will.i plan on doing domes and fantastic fan while I'm at it. I'd love to let the warranty fix this, but I feel I'll do a better and hoefuly more permanent job myself. Now just need to wait for spring.

I see there are choices on tape width. Haven't decided which to buy.
