Craig, I got it working! The wiring was actually right, and I have power. My confusion lay in that the roof unit now goes up when I push "retract" and down when I hit "extend". Why, I do not know, but nor do I care. As a solo camper of a certain age, I needed this to work, as the roof is way too heavy for me to work manually.

Fantastic! Just switch the wire connections at the actuator and up will be up and down down.

The switch just changes the polarity +/- to raise or lower. You just have the connections backwards.

Since it was already down the limit switch wouldn't let it go down any more.

If that's confusing, just switch the wires and don't worry about it.
