I was wondering whether the dealer put the standard 14" rims and tires on when he delivered it. These high wall trailers are shipped with 13" rims and tires to get them to fit on the truck. An unscrupulous (or lazy) dealer might not put the correct tires/rims on. Just a thought.

That one made me smile. We did see the camper with those shipping wheels on before we purchased it and it does presently have the "real" chrome wheels on instead of the mini version.
Scratced the asphalt entering a gas station today and immediately thought of this forum.
All is good, I can see the potential risky roads in front of me better than I could a week ago.
Into Idaho tomorrow.
Thanks!

Stabilizing jacks

We bought our 2017 wildwood 261bhxl from Holman rv in botavia Ohio and have had electrical problems out the wazoo ever since. When we first got there a ground was loose not allowing the awning and stabilizer jacks to work. Later on we had our awning lights and interior lights go out. Come to find out we had 9 grounds loose inside the TT. well after camping a couple weeks ago I went to drop the jacks and neither front nor back work. The front kicked on for a spilt second with the manual switch and have not done a thing since. Everything else is working fine and we've check the ground bus inside and ive checked all the fuses in the box and the inline fuse by the battery. We're at a loss now.

This is the A Frame section of the forum. To get a better response, start a new thread in the area of the forum for your type of camper.

2019 A213HW Stabilizer Jack Recommendations

OK, this is an old thread but I thought I'd add to it versus creating a new one. On our last camping trip I had one of the corner stabilizer jacks twist and buckle. Even though I had it lifting against a 2"x6" piece of wood the ground was soft enough that one of the stabilizers buckled. They have always seemed very marginal. Has anyone "upgraded" these corner stabilizer jacks to something more durable and forgiving? If so, can you let me know what you bought and how they turned out? If there other ideas for improvements let me know. I was lucky I had a bottle jack and it was able to help with the corner that failed. Thanks for the help!

I used these:

https://www.etrailer.com/Camper_Jack...48-979002.html

Considerably heartier than the OEMs. Bolt pattern matched perfectly.

This fixed our dragging problems:

Here's a thread on lifting:

Thanks for the suggestion. I was under some time pressure and I ordered these prior to getting any feedback.

I like what you posted better. I'll probably move these two to the front where they are less stressed and buy what you suggested. I'm hoping the higher weight rating means they are a lot more durable. We'll see how it goes.

And thanks for the links on the other topics.

Funny situation...the stabilizer jacks got about 60 miles from my house according to the tracking records and then I got a notice that said "package damaged during shipment and is being returned to AMAZON. Refund pending." I drove up to Camping World and they happened to have the exact stabilizer jacks that you recommended so I bought them. They were not in stock at eTrailer and they were quoting late Sept for a ship date. I took some measurements and pictures to help others make the decision in the future since no one advertises the facts you want to see to confirm the jacks really are more durable. The only thing I did not like about these stabilizer jacks is the hex head on the threaded screw isn't perfectly square and wobbles the drill while raising and lowering the jacks. Other than that, they are in fact much more hefty than factory. Here is what I measured with my trusty caliper. Sorry about the mixed units.

Base/Foot that contacts the ground
OLD - 8.25"x4.24"x 2.15 mm
NEW- 9.00"x4.50"x2.31 mm

Main stabilizer arms/beams
OLD - 1.8" wide x 1.5 mm thick
NEW - 2.0" wide x 2.0 mm thick

Mounting bracket - Yes, same mounting hole pattern but lots of distortion
OLD - 7.00"x3.25"x2.9 mm
NEW - 7.25"x3.5"x2.9 mm (same steel thickness)

Threaded rod
OLD - bushing on one end, 12 mm diameter rod
NEW - threaded interface on both ends, no bushing, 15.7 mm diameter rod

Bolts on the new 6500 lbs stabilizers are all much larger in diameter, probably ⅜"

Here are some pictures...

Wow Zoinks, very thorough!

I trashed one of my OEMs, mounted the other 3 to short pieces of 2x6, kept one, gave the other two to my "kids". Great for lifting a lawn/garden tractor.

Sometimes you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

I'm quoting the Grateful Dead. Must be time for me to.....good night....
