A Frame is in the shop

The hubby's man-shop, that is! LOL

Somehow its found a place next to the classic cars. It sure makes packing and reorganizing easier for me when leaving and returning.....he has his big boy toys and I have the trailer...what a deal...he's a good guy to share his space...hopefully one day I wont have to ask him to back it in here, I am working on that skill everytime I go out...I have very patient cheerleading friends who have been there too. We can laugh with each other and make light of not feeling embarassed for not being "great" in backing...we all had to start somewhere. But I will say again, it IS much easier to back a straight line with this fold down trailer versus my previous TT...maybe because I can see OVER?

Nice and snug!
It's so handy to have access to your aframe and keep it under cover. Backing 'er in will get easier with practice.

Thanks for your vote of confidence, Deb!

However, when I had the Jayco, I nearly took out the back fence with the front of my SUV - I was so focused on fitting the trailer thru the opening, I forgot where the front of the vehicle was...thank goodness my loving spouse was not home at the time to see that near hit!

He began constructing this shop last Fall and had not really planned for my trailer to go in there - but it was too long to comfortably fit in the garage (I never considered length, just "assumed" it would fit...but on bringing it home - found out otherwise.) Yay for his shop...but look how much practice I get in backing! haha He decided it was best to widen the curving drive ...LoL - so, as long as he's willing to back in when he's home, I gladly toss him the keys. its too stressful under his watchful eye. yikes!

Meanwhile I will keep arriving early at the show events to have the room to manuever and practice with no chance of swiping any innocent trashcan or rig...nice thing is at the shows, everyone comes over and coaches and guides the inexperienced, no one wants their expensive motorhome or TT dinged up. I cant wait til the day that comes that I can confidently coach another! Thanks again, Deb!

That's a real nice looking shop and your trailer adds the finishing touch! As for the learning curve in backing up - it might take some time and practice but the skill will come.

Schweet man-cave-garage-shop! Yes, folks are mighty helpful when newbies are backing their rigs in... especially so if their $80K 5th wheel is in the next site over (with no barriers between).

Glad to see that I'm not the only one. However our fiver won't fit. But the Harley, the 56 Chevy pick up that he is restoring, tons of tools and machines, and my pick up will. We had a small one car garage about 30 feet behind our house and DH moved it. Literally! Jacked it up, put it on a hay trailer and moved it to his cousins property cuz he wanted it. All in one piece! So now the camper sits on the pad close to the house. Can't complain... And the other toys are just as fun!!!!

Hi Matthews! Dry weight on this trailer is 2225. Maximum weight on the gear deck is 650...hitch weight is 320, a Class IV hitch w/ 2-5/16 ball.

When we went to pick it up, we had brought the 2" ball only to discover we were wrong....thank goodness for having a truck with more than enough towing power and right capability already (ClassIV already part of trucks towing package)

Hey 4bnabird! Sounds like I am in good company! My DH tends to collect big ticket toys...we have 2 Rancheros (his Dad gifted him with his '68 and I inherited my Dad's '65) but meanwhile he is in process of restoring his '56 Buick Century wagon...then theres the boat...and a trailer and a few more"things" - so my dinky trailer is not an issue with him. LOL What I hear him say now isthere is no more reason to worry about my TV not having enough power. .haha...I was towing my last TT w/my 1995 Isuzu Rodeo...at least I can still tow with it if I choose (but I love towing with the Titan).

Same thing happened to us! We had the 2" ball on the hitch when we picked up the camper...dealer was kind enough to give us a 2-5/16" - and install it.
