A-Frame radio issues

Has anyone else experienced difficulties with the radio CD player in their A-Frame? I have the 2012 Flagstaff T12 RB model. It began last summer when neither the radio nor the CD player would shut off via the switch or remote. The only way I could get it to turn off was putting in a CD and ejecting it and than using the off switch. Now it turns on and shuts off quickly without getting reception or playing a CD at one point it wouldnít eject the CD. A-Frame is closed up and stored and I canít recall for sure the model of stereo. Iím thinking its loose wiring but wonder what if other A-Frame campers have had similar ghosts.

I had a small issue with the volume control, but it did a ghost fix and started working. If you have the radio with the flip out CD player, which is what was in my A122, it is a piece of junk. I would recommend replacing it with a regular car radio. A member (68Triumph) has done a conversion and may be able to help with the install. Below is a link with his post.

I think Forest River is now installing a typical head unit in the new models. A decent head unit can be bought for under $150.00.

Thanks Mike G, no mines not the flip out CD I think I got the version after that one and I actually liked it up until it crapped out. It seemed decent for what I wanted it to do just listen to some tunes and the weather/news report didnít want to blast out the entire campground. LOL Could live without it but it seems a shame to have it installed and not working.

if it's the concertone zx-25, mine didn't work well from day one. Swapped it out with a JVC car sterio unit with a remote, and never been happier. added a 12v power outlet since I was already in there.

Mine is a new 2014 model and I do not really use the radio since it is a very low quality one. I did try it out when I got my unit home for a few hours but If you really want a decent one get it replaced as some have done.
