A Frame screen tent pole

While we were vacationing in Florida, we got caught in a severe thunder storm one night that wasn't supposed to come our way. One of the poles in our Dometic "A-Frame Awning & Screen Room" was broken by the wind. I've been getting a colossal runaround trying to replace it. Called Dometic, was told it had to be ordered through a Forest River dealer. Tried a dealer, who, tried Dometic, who sent him to Forest River, who sent him back to Dometic. Last word was you can't get a separate pole; you have to buy an entire new set of poles for $366. Does anyone have any suggestions? Since it's one of the two front corner poles, I can't use the screen room without it.

Another thought. For anyone thinking of buying one of these screen rooms, I'd think twice, if you can't replace a broken pole. If I had known that, I would never have bought the screen room.

I'd welcome any suggestions from the Forum.

I don't know what kind of pole you use on those screen rooms but Cabelas sells 8 and 9 foot adjustable awning poles, maybe you could adapt one to fit?

Tent pole repair kits are also available. Basically a metal sleeve that the broken ends are epoxied into.
