I just had my first night on the factory mattress. I went in to town and bought a topper.

Doesn't sound like a silly question to me, as I've wondered the SAME!!

We went thru this too. We tried the mattress and it was OK but we wanted more and got the 2 inch memory foam to put on top better but made it too high for us , next we took out the mattress and got some 2 inch regular foam and put it under the memory foam, did not like that, we move the regular foam to the top and like it the best.

Not a silly question. It took two of us to get the mattress out. Took out the table, lifted the mattress up and turned it sideways, pulled it into the table area, bent it a little by pushing down on the top and pulled it out.

Getting the new one I was easy because it was memory foam- rolled up in a small bundle. Just put it on the bed and opened it up! Took about a day for it to fully "fluff."

We had a mattress made by my nephew that owns an upholstery shop. Had our choice of foam firmness and responsiveness. He covered it in a fire resistant wool and hinged the mattress lengthwise enabling the mattress to fold for easy sheet changing. It is 54 X 80" and 4" thick. What a great difference. Cost was $350 and well worth every penny.
