We picked up our camper on the 26th, and on the road the 27th. We left home from colorado springs(it was nice to get away from all the smoke from the waldo canyon fire) and drove 1300 miles to Michigan to visit friends and family.
The trailer pulled great behind the Nissan Titan, no sway at all. Our first overnight stop was at a rest area in Des Moines IA. It was a nice change from sleeping in a vehicle to being able to make dinner and sleep on a bed!
I still can't believe how many looky loos that stopped to look at the camper.
My brother thinks its the coolest lil trailer ever. He wants to buy the same model for his hunting trips.
One small problem with the trailer though. We were in a heavy down pour and there was a tiny leak at the window in the door. It looks like it needs a little bit of silicone around the outside edge of the window. Easy enough to fix though.
It is just my wife and I, and our three dogs. Enough space for all of us. The couch we just leave in the bed posistion, and the dining table we leave down also. We threw some down comforters on the beds, a sheet and sleeping bags and it is cozy!
On the storage deck, I mounted my rooftop carrier to hold extra gear, and I have enough room to throw my truck tool box on also for when we head out to the gold claims.
I borrowed my dads yamaha 2000 generator while camping at my brothers property. I'm glad that I did, now I know I need a bigger generator. Two of the days it was just plain ol hot and muggy. The dogs were just miserable. The genny was in the shade, but it just couldn't kick over the AC when we needed it the most. Finally after turning off the circuit breaker for the microwave, it turned on, for awhile
Having the camper made the trip alot better. It was nice to make food in the rest stop areas instead of driving to a fast food place. Everyone that checked out the camper was amazed by how it folds so quickly. I had it up and open, along with a beer from the fridge in 45 seconds. Now we just need to do a couple of the mods(screen door for the top half!) and a bigger genny, and we will be all set!
