A214HW Heat Pump?

Hey All, I have an A214HW and when the weather starts to hit the low 40*s and below my heat pump starts to blow lukewarm air. When it is in the 30*s it seems to blow cold air. I had to turn on the propane furnace. Does this happen with all the heat pumps? Just would like to know. Thanks to all who answer.

The heatpump on your camper, unlike a home heatpump will not have an auxillary electric heat strip. It works solely by extracting heat from the ambient temperature. Less heat in the amient temp the less heat extracted.

Heat pumps typically crap out at about 40F; not enough "heat" in the air to pump efficiently anymore, although some newer home units apparently can get down to about 30F, I'm told.

There should be a statement to this effect somewhere in the manual for your unit.

Bring along a small ceramic heater. It will be quieter anyway.
