AC Vent Modification
While I was sanitizing the fresh water tank my DH got an idea for getting some AC cool air to the front of our camper. We have an A213 HW. Twin beds.
He diverted one of the three vents to the FOOT of the bed and placed a dryer vent to vent the air. He has to move the water pump switch but that’s no big deal. The vent does not interfere with the cabinet door or the drawers. Some cable ties to hold the tubing high enough to not interfere with the drawer underneath. And yes! Cool air aimed at the front of the trailer. We may switch out the dryer vent to one that stays open all the time, but for now this works.
I hope the pics explain better than I did.

Nice. I was close to going that route, but got cold feet (<-ha) on cutting the hole for the outlet.
Great job!

This is awesome! I use a small fan on the floor in front of ours but if course it's always getting kicked. (also have the twin beds, love those!)

I also use a small fan, I got one that runs off my 18vdc power tools batteries and it works great and can be used to redirect air and heat anywhere or taken outside to keep the bugs off.

Just got done rerouting one of the vent tubing for the cool kat and it turned out great. New vent, tubing cost less than $20.00. Moved the water pump switch to the front of the bed side by the drawer and this also turned out good. Air flow is good from the vent and I got a vent that is adjustable for air flow.
Thanks for the idea, I believe this will really help keep the camper cooler when a/c is in use.

What did you use to cut your openings? The material is so thin and cheap, I don’t want to destroy it.

I used the blade from a coping saw. Traced out the hole diameter which included the hole for the water pump switch, removed the saw blade from the saw handle, wore some leather gloves and cut the hole slowly and carefully. Turned out pretty good, just take your time. Drilled a 1/2" hole and used coping saw blade to cut new hole for the water pump switch.
Take about an hour from start to finish. Does move a good amount of air if I remove the defuser.

My husband used a dremel tool. Slow but adequate. Yes, it does help with air flow. We also use a fan and I aimed it wrong, it was blowing the cool air right back at the thermostat and it kept turning off the cool cat. Moved the fan, easy fix. [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]
