I just want it cool inside when the sun warms up the walls and roof.

Setting an A/C @ 66 will not make it cool any faster than if you set it @ 76 !!!
Each to there own !!!

All that inland heat is the reason for the cool on the California coast. Inland hot air rises causing a thermal low pressure area which draws the cool sea air into the coastal areas. I've seen summer days on the Southern California coast where the marine layer didn't clear until mid afternoon.

We went to Lake Pueblo State Park in Colorado 2 years ago in July. With no reservations, only unpowered sites available - and they were on the north side of the valley. We baked in the sun in 100 degree temps, and gave up after about 3 hours at the site. Luckily, it was less than a 90 minute drive from home.

If we are going where the high is going to be above 80 for long, we make sure we have a powered site. The Cool Cat handles the heat pretty well.

When we had a PUP without A/C, we just wouldn't go where it was going to be in the 90s.

But I start the day at 66 when the sun hits the walls and roof. If I start the day at 76 here in Florida it will be in the 80's inside in no time.

We're picking up our new Surveyor tomorrow, and have a trip planned for the weekend of August 5th for a few days. Mostly just to check it out to make sure everything works under "camping conditions". The temp is forecast to be in the lower to mid 90's, which is typical for this time of year in Georgia.
