Heat index has been over 105 most of last week.

We also do too. We rode bikes at the Caverns Park and the entire road is shaded. Pretty nice ride in the morning.

Also being down near the beach helps also because you get that good breeze going. We are camping at St. Andrews in Panama City in the next few weeks. Also a very nice park.

When it feel like 105 at South Padre Island, then yes it is hot. We are taking a trip to Oklahoma then Palo Duro Canyon, then Deming N.M.

I guess we are suckers for abuse.

Just back from 10 days not far from home. Even here in Northeast Ontario it is incredibly hot and humid. Some days almost 100 with the humidity. That's really hot for us. Heading out again soon. Thank heavens for lots of Ontario shade and a/c.

I don't know how you folks in the south do it! I tried camping in a tent back in the 90's in northeastern AL (or northwest GA, can't remember) when we were at a motorcycle rally in Chattanooga, TN at the end of July and it was 105°F and 100% humidity. I remember it feeling like the hair on my arms was burning as I rode the motorcycle. I couldn't stand it and went to an air conditioned motel. Hardly rode at all while there, just too hot for me.

Were heading to Sherkston Shores RV Resort near Port Colborne and Niagara Falls, ON next week so I hope the heat wave breaks because there's no shade at those sites.

To mdstudey. We just came from Deming. What an unexpectedly great place. Don't miss the wineries and Forgedaboudit is an incredibly good Italian restaurant. Dreamcatcher RV park is clean, friendly and has plenty of space this time of year.

Went to a local campground over the 4th and into the next weekend. It was about half full and way too hot. Had the grandkids out and they didn't even ride bikes. Poor dog could only stay in the camper. It stayed too hot at night to even enjoy a campfire.

Then we got home and spent the next week scratching dozens of chigger bites.

We've had to cancel our September/October UP trip due to a torn rotator cuff needing some repairs so we'll be staying home till January. Then..... Florida for 12 weeks.

We just returned from a week at Tomoka State Park in Ormond Beach, FL. I'm ashamed to admit we spent much of our day inside in the a/c as it was too hot outside. We did make it down to the beach for a couple of hours in the morning several days. We enjoyed evenings outside until the mosquitoes joined us. It was still better than sitting at home! We didn't want to leave.

We're camping right now with the grandchildren at Fort Pickens on the Florida-Alabama border. Great swimming at the beach and the a/c in our Wildwood works perfectly. No issues at all. We camp 12 months out of the year and are probably in our trailer as much as we are home.

We just spent 4 days at the Great Texas Ballon Race in a campground with no shade. Our A/C ran almost non stop in the afternoon sun but it did keep us comfortable.

Hot makes beer better. I take the Lasko squirrel cage fans for sitting outside.

I'm not in an A-Frame, but I am foolish enough to be camping in freaking Florida in this heat. Having a hard time keeping the inside of the camper under 80F.

Going to Lake Texana for a shakedown run in two days. I get the feeling I'm going to be glad I put the second ac on this one.

It was 46 last night and averaged 75 by day at San Simeon Creek, Cambria, CA this weekend. Hurt like heck to come home to 100 driving through 106 in So California today.

We stayed at Juniper Point East COE campground. We had a 30 AMP site. We were with two other couples and we all had problems tripping the 30 AMP circuit running just the AC, refrigerator and our ice maker numerous times.

We returned from the Rockies last week and sure miss the 80F days and 55F nights. Here in central FL it is crazy hot. I want to go, but if I am going to sit in the camper all day I can do that at home.

Come on Fall!

Just got back from a week at Mustang Island state park between Port Aransas and North Padre Island. It was hot. Very hot. And humid. No shade at all but we were able to keep the inside of ours at 70-72 during the day and the A/C was cycling when set to 66-68 at night.

I felt really bad for the numerous tent campers. Had to have been uncomfortable.

We are headed down for another 4 nights in a couple of weeks. It's quite bearable on the beach during the day with some shade from a canopy and once the sun goes down quite comfortable just sitting around outside the camper; walking on the beach at night is almost chilly.

Luckily there always seems to be a stiff breeze.
