Auto operation of Dometic RM2354
The Dometic RM2354 3-way refrigerator has a nice feature with AUTO mode in that you can set it for AC to have top priority and when Shore Power is not available it will automatically switch to GAS. Hence, if one is doing one night stands, on the road it will run on GAS, but when you pull in to a site and hookup, then it will switch back to AC.
The only hitch it seems is if you stop to refuel the TV, one should turn off the GAS, or so the manual states. Will it then switch to DC and run off of the TV battery or house battery? And if that is the case, when you finish re-fueling and turn the GAS back on, will it switch back to GAS? Not covered in the manual as best as I can determine.
If it does switch back to GAS then everything is fine. If not, one could run off of the TV battery until you reach your destination for the day. In fact one strategy could be to time your refueling before you pull off to go to your camping site.
Just wondering about this stuff and what others have found to be the best way to work with this.
