Beeping

Okay, so all of a sudden there is a beeping noise. We discovered it is probably the carbon monoxide detector, running and draining the battery.
Is there a main switch somewhere to cut off all power when it is being stored?
Or is there a modification anyone would suggest that worked for them?

Heading out this weekend for trip #2 a dry camp!
Thanks~

Pull the 30 amp main fuse from the red wire coming off the positive terminal of the battery on the outside front of camper. This will cut off 12 volt power to the camper. If you have camper plugged into 120 ac unplug this also. There is also a 30 amp main fuse in fuse box on converter that you can pull which should cut 12 volt power to camper. I prefer to pull the outside fuse to isolate battery from camper while storing or in your case to preserve battery while you troubleshoot alarm issue. If it is the propane detector going off I can tell you they are very sensitive and can be set off by cleaners, bug spray, and other chemicals. The slightest bit of propane will set it off. Sometimes when my water heater ignites it will set off the alarm briefly. Make sure your battery voltage is not low as this also will set it off and of course make sure you do not actually have a propane leak!

The alarm itself should indicate if it is CO or propane alarm by the blinking lights. It should say right on the alarm how to interpret blinking lights. Are you sure it's not the smoke detector? A low internal battery will set that off. It does not run on 12 volt house battery so if you pull fuse and it's still beeping it's the smoke alarm.

installing a simple battery disconnect switch will cure that. your trailer doesn't come with a factory one.

I installed a group 33 battery box with a group 29 battery to allow for the extra space for the bolts that attach the switch to the battery box.

Beeping

Go to amazon.com and search for 'battery disconnect switch' - there are dozens. The easiest to install is probably the worthco blade switch, but, as you'll see, the options are many and you just have to choose which you like the best. Just turn your battery off whenever you put up your camper from a trip.

If you're going to leave it for > 6 months it is a good idea to charge the battery before your next trip, as they still lose voltage over time.

Also check the smoke detector battery. It is most likely one of the 9V type that lasts about a year.

Without your unit plugged into 120 v....gradually turn on all your 12volt appliances , furnace included....and if the beeping starts again ....its time for a new battery ....
This sensor is programed to detect low battery situations...so it will sound if your battery is not recieving enough juice....so it work properly.
