Bike rack A122S

Hi All,

I would like to be able to attach my bike rack to the bumper of A122S, has anyone done this? Please share how you did this and pictures if possible.

Thanks,

Aaron

That may void your FR warranty. Check what I did in my A128S for a bike rack, post #392 http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...-27602-40.html

Good luck!

Wow, that is creative!

I don't have a warranty issue. I am looking to put the bike rack in the rear of the trailer. The bumper looked pretty flimsy to me so maybe there is a way to weld it to the back of the frame.

Thanks!

The so called "bumper" is far to weak to hold anything, Don't even stand on it.

Some people have reported adding custom welding to the frame underneath and carrying bikes successfully. As ko777 says, a rear bike rack also runs the risk of voiding your warranty. If you decide to pursue this, make sure of you can maintain the gross vehicle weight within the rating and while keeping at least 10% of the weight on the tongue.

I didn't care about warranty either. I removed the rear spare tire carrier and replaced all the bolts with beefed up through bolts and fender washers, then bought an over-the-tire type bike rack. I only take two bikes and so far I don't see any problems (30+ trips). The trailer handles same as before.
