Final trip report. Two wonderful sunrises over the water, a 9 mile day kayaking with two bald eagle sightings and a gorgeous sunset from in the kayas on the water. A dinner of great Mexican food. A an 11 mile hike in the park. A few old friends and a few new friends. And an very uneventful drive home.

By the Carlisle radials. Radial tires are so much better when towing for tracking and for camper bounce.

I believe the lack of damage was because the tread ring stayed intact and wrapped around the brake instead of flying apart as it might in a straight blow out and beating on the wheel well and floor.

I've very happy to just move on from this one with no more than the cost of a new set of tires and a new wheel.

Ok Pooneil taking your advise, I finally found Carlisle radial tires (ST 175/80-13 load range D) to replace the Kenda tires that came with my camper. Hope they last longer than the ones that came with camper (manufacture date 1513) 3 years. $174.74 out the door for the 2 that includes mounting and balance.

Thanks for your recommendation, sorry you had to get a new wheel sure they are not cheap.

I have ordered tires from etrailer.com a couple of times. Reasonable prices and shipped quickly. They have all kinds of stuff besides tires.

Discount Tires had the Carlisle available. They brought them in from California in a few days. The sales guy understood ST tires so there was no trouble like the last time I used them. Professional service this time.
