I'm not sure what you mean by "vent covers". The fan in the ceiling already has a cover, so I'm just a little confused.

My two vents have covers, too, but often we install a vent cover like the one shown below - The Maxxair II. This allows the vent to be opened while in the rain or driving.



I installed the Fan/Mate to be used with the fan in the bathroom.

we had another thread about the same thing, not that long ago.
PDI's must be getting worse and worse, since this is an important thing for new owners to do and it seems that many weren't informed by the dealer.

fwiw: These are great products for traditional RVs & campers, but this style vent cover will not work on an Aframe's vent.

When the roof of an Aframe is folded down, the vent lid's opening end is front facing. Parked in the campsite, we raise the roof and the vent lid opens downward, as designed, to cover the vent and fan. With this configuration Aframe owners must be extra careful be in the habit of locking the vent lid closed in the preparation for travel.

If installed in the correct postion, the Maxxair style covers' vented part would be forward facing during travel. It just wouldn't work on an Aframe.

Yea, that was my thinking on the MaxAir vents re not good for AFrame.

Just as an FYI - We established a rule that ANY time the roof fan is off, it has to be closed AND locked, lest we forget. It can never be closed and NOT locked.

One time it was closed and I didn't lock it, and never noticed until I was driving down the highway a few mins after we left the campsite. Luckily it was still on slow roads (under 40mph) so it didn't get ripped off. But going forward was the insistence on always locking when closed.
