Bunk Beds Mod?

Is it possible to mod the dinette area into bunk beds? Has anyone done this? The goal is to keep the dinette area and do a modification to where we have bunk beds instead of just the single bed. Rockwood A122

Thanks

Wow..hmm. Maybe someone really short could sleep on the floor under the bed? I think the apparatus to create something over the bed would be challenging and heavy and the available space as to get higher is severely compromised by the pitched roof. An extra tent outside seems like an easier solution if its not an everyday thing.

In your A122? Doubtful. The water heater and propane furnace is not removable on the driver's side. The cabinet on the passenger side would have to be removed. Even if you could, I'm still not sure there is enough height.

Floor plan: Rockwood A122 by Forest River

Maybe you can run it down the middle (walkway) with the table removed, if wide enough. It'd get pretty tight in there, but better than the kids sleeping in a tent, I guess.

Funny you should ask...I saw a bunk bed mod in an Aliner near Bryce Canyon this year. It was a really neat setup. He even added a window where the under dinette storage door used to be. HOWEVER, the dinette was eliminated. He also removed his water system and carried jugs of water in the back of their truck. They ate their meals outside. Sorry, no pics...I regret not getting any.
