camper undercoating
I have a question about the raw plywood under the Rockwood. I have concerns about road water weakening the flooring. Has anyone had the underneath of the camper sprayed with something like camper liner or something water proof, and if so...what are your thoughts and what type of product should be used? Thank you for your help!

I'm curious about the same thing! I would think the plywood should be fine, but something like that couldn't hurt!

I will be keeping my camper in the garage, but while driving, I'm concerned about road water flipping up and soaking the wood underneath. Trucks get their bed liners sealed, so I was thinking this would be ideal to protect the underside of the camper from splashed water. It couldn't cost much...$200.00 maybe. If anyone has done this, I would love to hear about how they feel it helped. Then the question is....who does this?

That is a great link. Makes sense to me! Don't do anything to it!

To put your mind at more of an ease, call your dealer and talk to them about it. If he says, do nothing, then leave it alone.

Given all the stories here about incompetent dealers, and not knowing who his dealer is, I don't really think that going by their opinion on this subject is the necessarily the right thing to do.

If you call forest river they will tell you the underside needs no special treatment. Keep an eye on the frame and touch up with rust preventative paint as needed, but a thorough undercoating the decking is not necessary and not generally recommended by the factory. The structurewood flooring is intended to be uncoated.

If I am not mistaken the floor has a warranty for 25 years. I agree with you that I wish they didn't use particle wood but then again I don't on keeping my 2014 longer than a few years before upsizing

It's not particle wood or particle board. It's a special outdoor grade of OSB which is superior to plywood because it cannot warp like plywood. It in no way resembles particle board so please don't think of the use of this wood as a cost-saving measure, it's probably one of the materials they did opt to go expensive on.
