Why not run the fridge on propane rather than drain the battery? The fridge only sips propane...

I know that but when I travel I put my propane tanks at the back of the trailer, it was buried back there and I was too lazy to set it up. Anyways I now know batteries on the fridge is only good for an hour or two. Next time I will put one tank to be accessed easily so when I stop over to sleep in one of those rest stops, I could easily take it out. BTW it looks like my batteries recovered from being drained by the fridge.

Also when I was dry camping, I was using the fridge as a freezer by putting the level to max using propane, it ate a lot of propane, more than half a tank in 7 days. I was able to get temp -5c at the bottom back of the fridge. Looks like I'll only do this when I have electric service.

I'm planning to get this freezer/fridge for my trailer, anyone has this? http://www.compactappliance.com/CRF1...S&src=SHOPPING

You can also get an adapter to connect your propane system to a 1 lb bottle. It should power the fridge for several days.

Good idea, I might just do that instead of taking out a big tank out from the back of my trailer.
