Camping at the Beach
Taking our a 122 BH for 4 days to Ft Desoto Beach in Florida day after tomorrow. Looking forward to it! Bringing the bikes and paddle boards! We have been out twice close to home this will be a test for our week long trip camping in the Florida Keys in Oct. Excited and can't wait. Also want to test out the effectiveness of the Yeti coolers to see if ice will last longer. Will post updates.

Sounds like a great time. Enjoy!
We booked an Outer Banks beach house vacation with friends for November, back before we were even thinking of buying a new camper. Our friends now have also downsized back to a popup, and we're wishing we were camping on the beach instead of staying in the house. I think we'll survive in the beach house, though.

Returned from 4 nights camping at Ft Desot park in south Tampa Bay. Beach was beautiful, water was warm, clear and calm. Paddle boarded, biked, snorkel end. There is a reason why it was voted America's Best Beach.

Looks like you had a great time. Did the Yeti coolers work as advertised? A thousand dollars could have bought a lot of ice.

Hmm...I have to say...20 some years camping and I have never come upon your propane campfire set up? Can you cook on that? Is it more for ambiance? Were you not allowed to have a regular campfire? Just asking...

Sweet. A beautiful place.
I am getting ready for a trip to Mustang Island State Park over labor day.

We'll be sailing out of Gulfport and Boca Ciega Bay over the weekend...destination, Egmont Key...we'll give you a wave as we drift by...
Have a great camp!
P.S. The raccoons at Desoto are some of the world's most brazen thieves...lock that cooler!

We went to Edgmont Key, no bathrooms. we were underwhelmed! Enjoyed ft desoto beach much better. The propane campfire is awesome, sets up quick. Need a fire pit and didn't have one. Sometimes by the time you light a wood fire your ready to go inside but the fire burns for hours. Love the propane " little red campfire" made s'mores.

Looks like fun! We are going to Fort de Soto over Labor day weekend and then again with friends in November. The keys sound great! We have been playing with the idea of going there next year. Have you been to Hillsborough River SP? One of our favorite local places. We live in Valrico so it is very close for us. Oscar Shearer SP (not sure I spelled that right) down by Sarasota is also very nice. And of course, Disney! Maybe we will run into each other sometime. We have yet to see any fellow Rockwood A-framers. Only A-liners.
