CO alarm randomly goes off?

Anyone else have issues with their CO2 detector going off randomly? I packed up the camper and it started beeping twice. There was no propane hooked up or any other device turned on. Battery bank was fully charged. I have had it go on sometimes when using the water heater but only does that 30% of the time. Sometimes it went off when using the stove. It is bizarre and never able to duplicate how it happens and I do not smell propane.
Any suggestions?

First off.....it’s a CO monitor (Carbon Monoxide) not CO2 (Carbon Dioxide)

Do you have a propane detector to monitor propane gas leaks ( the smell of rotten eggs)?

These two different monitors are for two different functions.

It sounds like a battery problem, mine will chirp when battery is a bit low. You have two different monitors, one is propane the other is CO, the CO usually chirps with low battery voltage.

Lots of things will cause the alarm to sound beside CO, propane, or low voltage. Many spray cleaners, deodorizers, or dog flatulence will cause alarm. If you have a battery disconnect that was off, the unit will beep a few times when you turn 12V power back on, That is normal.

Check the date code on the back of it. They generally have a 5 year life.

Mine will go off if the wind is blowing toward the side of the trailer that has the water heater and the water heater is heating. Tried and tried numerous things. Was told by a rapair shop to live with it as it's the nature of the way these A-Frames are made. ( Suggestions welcomed )

mine will go off if you use a spray can near it.

We have an Outback TT and were camping in December, sitting watching tv, it was cold so the furnace was running, and ours went off. Checked oven, off. Turned propane off outside, opened TT and let air out, turned on fans inside, it kept beeping. After about 15 minutes of trying different things I cut the power wires. Reattached them about 10 minutes later and it didn't beep anymore, and hasn't since. I don't trust it so I went to Lowes and bought a battery powered one just to be on the safe side. We've camped once since then and neither have gone off.

The one in my tt is a combination CO/LP detector. It's printed on the front and the label.

A friend just got a new trailer. We did a burn-in on his furnance for about 10 minutes with both exhaust fans going and the winddows and door open. Never a tweet. Turned it off went out for a few hours and when we got back he turned the furnance back on. That detector chirped for 20 minutes till we cut the negative wire. He's going to have it looked at this week.

So, I'm going to assume it's a 2016. Even accounting for the possibility of it being built in 2015, that's still only 3 years ago.

What I'm curious about is the OP said there was no propane hooked up but that they were using the Water Heater and the Stove. Water heater maybe would work on only electric, depending on the model he has, but I haven't seen an A Frame yet with a non-propane stove.

I think they can also get dirty inside,,, that may cause them to go off for no other reason,I would open it up and blow it out,,, or vacuum it before I replaced it !!!

Ours would beep at any random time. We took it out, sent it to the manufacturer, they said there was nothing wrong with it. We considered all kinds of possibilities that would set it off but couldn't find anything.

We couldn't stand it so we just took it out and will replace it with something else. It's very frustrating.

The first time my son stayed in our motor home he came in the house and said the CO detector was going off. A hour after detector started going off we figured it out. They gave my grand son a shower upon pulling the 9 month old out of the shower he started to spray our new motorhome, my son took a towel and wrapped him up to stop him from marking his spot in hour motor home. What did he do he dropped the towel on the floor by the detector which set the detector off. How did I figure out what it was, I put the towel by it again and chirp chirp chirp... Urine.....

I gave up on the factory detectors with the false alarms and purchased a First Alert generic detector. No more false alarms. Tested it by turning on two gas burners for about 10-15 minutes with windows and vent closed and it did then alarm as it should.
