I was wondering if anyone has used the Nu Wave induction 2 cook top? They claim to cook faster than gas and if this would be "safer" because it doesn't get hot.
I was going to get one and did some reading. They require magnetic pans. I read that as iron. I passed on the purchase. Maybe someone has good news to help me change my mind.
We are actually planning on purchasing one for the upcoming season. Where we keep our trailer, I rarely use the LP, so every time we want to cook I have to go out and turn on the LP. We use the microwave a lot and "take out" even more.
I'd rather cook outside so using a gas grill works for me, I also pack a two burner Coleman stove that I can use as well.
I just do not want to deal with cleaning the stove, walls or counter inside.

I believe they have light weight induction cooking pans. We saw some at Walmart the other day. Did not pay close attention. Just do a google search for more information on induction cookware.
We are using the Nu Wave induction during the winter. The trailer we are staying in does not have gas. We are using our stainless steel pots no problem. We also have a stainless frypan that is magnetic. When purchasing your cookware check to see if they are suitable for induction cooking. You can also get a disk that will allow you to use nonmagnetic pans on the unit.

I bought a portable unit from Costco for about $60 Canadian. I keep it in my outdoor kitchen and use it for heating up large pots of water for potatoes or corn. Works great but you really need to use a magnet to check bottom of any pots you have or are buying. I checked dozens of pots and pans before I found the correct one.
