Big Red Camper, nice change from my method. One concern I had about removing the factory caulk was warranty issues caused by a leak from none factory applied caulk. But it sounds like you did a real good job to prevent that problem.

The screen I used was woven galvanized steel, I don’t see the need to go the expense and trouble of finding and using stainless steel or some other specialty engineering cloth.Even though its not welded it should hold up for years used in this type of application.

So far after about a year I have no problems of wasp entering, weaving of the wire coming lose or anything else.
