Cooolcat Issue

Hey folks,
Spent a couple days at Lake Mead this weekend. The first afternoon/evening were fine, as the coolcat was providing sufficient cooling. Then after the trailer sat through the full day on Sunday (temps 105+), it was understandably lagging. But eventually cooler air did not come out anymore. Brought it home, cleaned out the air filter, tried to run it cool again (for about 30 minutes) before the heat of Las Vegas days, but it still didn't kick out any cold air.

Thoughts or suggestions? (Fwiw, I took it to Camping World and they have a three-week waiting time for service; looking for ideas prior to taking it in).

Thanks!
Dave

Is the compressor kicking in? Do you have good power to it? Do you see your lights dim at all when you crank the AC?

Seems to be kicking in...fan starts, about 30" later seems the compressor kicks in. Was running off shore power both at the campground and here at my house...no dimming of the lights.

If it had just been at the campground I would have said there were brownouts there due to the high current draw of all the campers using AC at the same time. Given that you have the same symptoms at home, either that's not the problem or you don't have it plugged into a 30-amp circuit at home. Most home garage-area outlets have 15 or 20 amp service, enough to run the microwave but not enough for the AC unit. The fan may run on that amperage but the compressor might not start or would quit soon after. See what it will do on a full 30 amp hookup without brownouts.
