covering drains--mouseproofing

This may be unnecessary but I can always undo it: I bought two junction box covers and screwed them over the two plastic drains--the one under the heat pump and the other under the refrigerator controls area. This should help discourage rodents while my A-frame is stored elsewhere this winter. The two covers may also help keep dampness out.

Glad to see that your heat pump drain is as rough looking as mine. That cover is a simple and elegant solution for outdoor storage!

I had my A126 on the drive way after out last trip. I decided to check out wiring and look for possible mouse entry points for winterizing ?before I figured out my garage parking trick). The 'port' is under the cool cat and I can only guess that it's there for overflow issues with the condensate pan.

The Dometic manual makes no mention of the 'port' in the installation/instruction manual. I am assuming it is a factory 'mod' that was implemented to solve some sort of problem.

Slightly off topic... I was pleased with the fact that there were almost no entry points for critters. Except for this port everything on my unit was sealed pretty well. The wiring however really should be in automotive inner duct.

By the way Hamguy... Is the center part of you drain/port just loosely sitting in the fitting? I noticed when I was inspecting that the grill of that drain could just be lifted up, it wasn't sealed to the ring.

Gosh I never checked. If it IS loose that's another reason to seal off the opening when the unit will be unobserved for months.
