I just bought a 19" Insignia tv from best buy for $99.
It has an adapter plug that goes into 110 and converts to 12 volts.
I had a cigarette lighter plug and checked the polarity on the plug.
It's out in the A frame now running.
Checking to see how long it will run. Going on 9 hours now.
I can still use it as a 110 volts also.
Didn't realize some of the smaller led/LCD TVs worked off 12 volts.

Update - Lesson learned.

Update:

Okay, my screw up! Turns out that the battery is still alive. I took it to the dealer who load tested it after an 8hr. charge and it tested fine.

Upon further reflection I realized my mistake. Previously I posted that I'd installed the battery and took a two hour drive to the camp site and couldn't understand why the battery was discharged.

What I forgot was that I had actually installed the battery 3 days before the trip. I'd connected the 120vac and turned on the fridge to cool it down. THEN (here's what I forgot) I disconnected the 120vac and switched the fridge to 12vdc and left it on overnight (so about 12 hrs.) THEN drove the 2 hrs up to the site. At that point I did switch off the 12vdc and lit the propane for the fridge. But I guess the damage was already done. The fridge had discharged the battery to the point where it couldn't even keep the radio on.

Lesson learned - no operating the refrigerator by 12vdc. except while underway. Thanks to all who pointed that out.

Ask Santa for a battery MONITOR...not a voltmeter....and it will be easy to see exactly where you stand at any moment...including current amp draw, exactly when you need to recharge...and exactly when you can stop recharging.
Glad you found the problem!

The admonition not to use propane on the road is due to the risk of an open flame while fueling...and the risk in an accident. Everyone has to make up their own mind on this one I think. Personally...I'd leave the fridge off if I didn't have a generator...or at least turn the propane off when I'm getting near a need to fuel up. Food will keep a few hours with the door closed!

Have traveled with the frig on propane since we got our 1st trailer in 1976. I have never shut it off other than going into some tunnels in the northeast.
