Question Delaminating Interior walls-How to repair

Just found and joined this site. Nice forum. My question is how to address the delamination of the "skin" that covers the interior walls. It's an older model with a thin skin of which looks like vinyl covering the plywood. And it is starting to delaminate exposing the plywood underneath. Wondering what others have done to repair the problem?

Hi,
You will need to provide some additional information. What make and model?
Can you post some interior pics of the issues?

It is a 15 ft. 1994 Aliner about 950 lbs. I am not sure of model. I could post some photos early next week.

Old saying:

"When you find yourself in a hole; stop digging."

You need to find and correct the water leak that is causing the delamination. With a camper that old, most likely there is serious structure problems as well.

Water is what causes campers to turn into deer blinds.

The cause isn't from leaks but many trips camping in the Colorado winters with considerable condensation.

You might have more luck finding an answer at an Aliner specific forum. This forum is geared toward Forest River products.

Not that we don't want to help. There is a great Facebook group. Search 'A Frame Campers' on FB and join them. Maybe some better ALiner insight there.

The interior wall on mine is covered with what feels like a wallpaper. I know from owning homes and kitchen remodels, it only takes some steam to remove it. Since years of condensation caused this to happen in yours, why not remove it all and repaper? Have you clled Aliner company to ask them? The A Frame FB group has many Aliner folks in it who my hve experienced what you have goimg on now...would be interested to know what you learn & how you resolve it! My trailer is a 2012, so hoping its a long long time before I see any issues like that.

I had a camper that did this and this is what I did, took a utility knife with a new blade and cut the vinyl, pulled it back and applied adhesive and smoothed it back into place. I think there are a couple of things different about this and wallpaper in a home. In the camper the wallpaper is manufactured onto the plywood and the trim, cabinets etc, fastened over it. That's why I had to cut the vinyl. In a home the wallpaper is glued to the walls and trimmed around cabinets and trim. If it comes loose in a home you can pull it back and re-adhere it. In the camper you will probably have to cut it.

If you have water damage to the wood itself, that is a whole different story. A horror story, I might add.

as others have said, you should get better help from the A-Liner community, than a forum that supports another manufacturer.
here's the A-Liner owner's forum:

It would also be a good idea to address severe condensation problems for the future. It seems this could be easily fixed with a cracked open roof vent or side window.
