We have been there a couple of times with the grandkids. It was very much fun for us. We live in DFW so it is a nice trip..
Nice looking set up.

I have camped there several times and visited while camping elsewhere. It has always been a good place to go. Glad the mods are working out for you.

We are wondering what size/brand tool box you bought and how you secured it to the front 'porch'? We have been looking for one to do the same. Thanks!

Has the water levels dropped now? Was there a month, after the flood, and creeks were full. Couldn't see the tracks.

not sure the dimensions. Its a standard pickup truck bed tool box got it at Northern Tool. I attached it with four bolts at each corner using fender washers torqued it down with red lock tight. I keep my outside grill and table in it along with the camp stove, the side walls for the eazy up, lantern propane tanks for lantern and stove, boxes of misc camping gear tent stacks, tie downs, duct tape, rope, etc. Hope that helps.

Thanks very much for the info on the truck box. Not quite sure how you mounted it-did you drill holes in the corners or do they come with a mounting bracket? It looks like just what we need and for the same purpose you have listed.

When my wife and I were up there a little while back we took in a play on Saturday evening at the Grandbury Opera House, which is not too far at all from the State Park. The Opera house is really a delightful place. It is small and so no matter what seats you get it is very personal. If you ever want to do something like that, it gets my recommendation. We went up a little early so we could go through a few of the shops and have dinner.

BobbiB yes I drilled holes in the corners making sure they aligned with the deck then used bolts fender washers and lock washer and lock tight to make sure nothing came loose.

Thanks again-we are picking our box up Thursday and headed out mid Sept on our first 'major' trip - the extra space will be great!
