Dulcimer Halloween Campout

Our dulcimer club has an annual Halloween campout each year. We started over 20 years ago at Lake Livingston State Park for several years and then moved to Stephen F. Austin State Park for several years and this year we have moved it Brazos Bend State Park.

We are having it the weekend before actual Halloween due to renting the group dining hall. It will be Oct 24, 25, 26. We will, of course, enjoy the park but will be playing music all weekend around the group dining hall...yes, we know to shut it down when quiet time gets here.

If any of you are camping there that weekend stop by and visit. We will decorate for Halloween....we'll have talent show, pumpkin carving contest, costume contest, etc.

Just started playing the dulcimer; wish we didn't live quite so far away. Thanks for the information.

I actually like Brazos Bend quite a bit. Going to be at Tex Ren Fest those days, though. Have fun!

Another successful fun trip completed. Just got back from our Dulcimer Halloween Campout. It was a success. Had around 30 people attend....most camped...a few came up just for Saturday.

My A128S performed flawlessly as usual. There are 4 of us that got new campers this year and I wouldn't trade my Aframe for any of the others. One had a Roo...one had a Trail Manor that folded up (they demonstrated..took too long and too much work for me)...one had a small travel trailer. I can be set up outside completely in less than 15 minutes..that's setting up walls of the camper...hooking up water and elect...leveling...setting up stabilizer jacks.

We played music some....rode bikes some....had a covered dish dinner Saturday night...had a pumpkin carving contest...had a costume contest...had talent show...more jamming and a short church service this morning with more singing and devotional.

Looks like a fun time! Given your challenging year, I'd like to think you were dressed as Superman!

LOL. Actually I didn't enter the costume contest this year. I'm president of the club and seems like I'm always having to do something else to make sure things get done. But a friend of mine and I are already talking about costumes for next year along with a contest piece.
