Early Summer Outing

It's been awhile since I shared photos of the A-Frame with the group. Here's a few I took of the outside set up on a girl trip I took in June. Set ups change (inside and outside) according to prefictef weather, trip type and if solo or camping with spouse.

Here's a couple interior photos. Was busy goofing around with friends and camp activities. I had a site by the river. It was enjoyable to watch guided floats pass by.

Since I just got ours and it's still "virgin" I and DW would like some kind of awning. I notice you have a half stand umbrella. I've never seen one. Could you tell me what brand it is and where you bought it?

Mzak, the campground is called the Bowl amd Pitcher at Riverside State Park in Washington.

Tjwoody - I don't remember off the top of my head, seeing a brand name when I unpacked the box. I purchased it via Amazon . The half umbrella is readily found from many sources there. Just do a search. They range in color, pole type, lighted (or not), and expense. There are many mods people use to attach their half umbie.

I don't always use it. I have several canopy types for various trips. The half umbie is good for still weather light breeze days.

I am attaching a photo of my tried and true canopy. It's an EZ Up brand, (commercial) canopy. It has been thru some wicked weather - strong gusting wind and torrential rains and held up beautifully. It wasn't a cheap purchase but it is still holding up 15 years later... but I noted a couple weeks ago it was on need of user maintenance...I may have to retire it this year. If so, then might try out the less expensive Clam screen house which is receiving rave reviews from happy A-Framers.

Do you have a link for the clam thingy you're talking about? I see a lot of options - how do they connect to the a frame?? Love the umbrella set up too!!!

Just go on Amazon.com and look up "clam screen tent". Lots of options. Just took a look myself. Very nifty way it is designed.

I did that but how does it connect to the a frame - or does it?

It doesn't connect to A-Frame. It's portable. Having a portable canopy is helpful since not all applicable sites are large enough to accommodate a 10x10 canopy next to the A-Frame.

We've had sites where we've had to go behind the trailer or off to the side...the option to move it is awesome!

Important to remember that not all sites have the space for the attached screen room that often comes with these units. Trees or shrubs might be in the way, curbing or another rv might be too close....every park and trip offers different set up circumstances....

Super! Thank you for the info! I totally get it now. We have a small easy up and a larger screen room but the weather has been excellent both times so we haven't bothered to get them out. (yet!) lol

Mama - it's good to have options. Your A-Frame will allow you to use it in spaces other rvs may not allow due to space limitations. I carry a smaller lightweight canopy and a couple Costco beach umbrellas when I am solo camping without my large dogs. If the dogs go, then so does that commercial EZ Up. Haha

The Clam screen room and it's reviews online and by other A-Framers is on my list to purchase. Spouse wonders how many more canopies I will collect. Haha. I like the ease of set up that others report with the Clam. Since many of my trips are in the rain and wind, it seems a nice alternative to the heavy EZ Up.

Totally get that - we haven't attempted to take the dogs yet. We have two littles but they are active and NOT socialized so we wanted to be very sure of what we are doing before we introduce that. But I'm already researching ways to keep them in the camp site and occupied. Didn't think about putting them in an ezup type thing! Smart!!!

Yes the ez ups aren't real wind proof. Maybe we need to have a little camping equipment clearance sale and use the money made to buy new equipment! lol Oh my....it's true what they say. Camping is when you spend a fortune to live like a homeless person!

Bahaha Chuck! Girl trips are fun, but we stay up way too late laughing and sharing stories around the campfire. Good thing we camp amongst each other so no one gets annoyed. Send your wife! Some of the best interior decorating I've seen. Some of those shots could have been taken from a custom $1,000,000 Prevost bus......
