First Trip

Thanks, in part, to the sage advice I received on this forum we took the plunge and bought a Rockwood A213HW and almost immediately headed to Wyoming for a 3-day "Apollo 9" jaunt. Everything went well. Only issue was the trailer brakes coming on when they were not supposed to when we were backing sideways on an incline. I am assuming this with due to the dealer mounting the brake controller vertically rather horizontally ("to avoid the airbag"), but I will need to investigate further. I expect these kind of hiccups. A grand time was had by all! Next weekend I will begin the Solar upgrade.

A beautiful place. I hope no one got a head cold.

A sideways mounted brake controler? I'd look over the install instructions or call the manufacturer and ask about that.

Congratulations. I love my A213HW too. We're going to Pinery Provincial Park in Canada this weekend. Will get to see how the Coolcat works.

I think you will be running the furnace at Pinery

If the Coolcat can't keep up, I will use my trusty ceramic heater.

Congratulations. We purchased our unit in May of this year and are loving it!

We are planning to visit Wyoming next June. Who knows, maybe we will see you!

Looks like a Grand Cherokee, where did they mount the brake controller? Pictures help. They had a time mounting the one in my GC as well. Mine ended up above my right knee, we couldn't find a really good place for it...but it has worked out fine where it's at. I've never seen anyone mount one horizontal.

We took our first trip in our 128S a few weeks ago. It got down to 40 at night. I thought we might have to use the furnace but the Cool-Cat kept it nice and toasty inside.

I moved the brake controller to the other side of the driver seat. There it can be mounted in the correct orientation and also avoid any interference with my legs.

Pointing to the new brake controller in new position.

I was worried about catching it with my right knee on the way out in that position. It's much tighter than it feels in the drivers seat.
