flat tail lights on trailer's rounded rear

i've noticed that the tail lights installed on our flagstaff hw are designed to mount on a flat surface, and don't fit well on the curved back end. this causes the lens to sit away from the fixture and results in the fixture being somewhat fragile. has anyone else experienced problems with this, and is there perhaps a recommended fix?

Your's must be different than the taillights on my low wall, which fit firmly against the slight curve of the camper with a shaped gasket. Posting a photo would help others to see just what concerns you.

I replaced the stock taillights on the 2514g we had with sealed LEDs.
On the first trip we took it on one of the lights was out and I could see that water had been running freely through the lens.
A good caulk job would have worked, but LEDs were cool... and much brighter.

My fit good on my 194 HW, seats perfectly against a neoprene or rubber looking seal/gasket

That certainly doesn't look right. Don't know what is to be done.
