Now, make it convenient and add a micro switch to the door so it automatically turns on when the door is open and shuts it off when the door is closed. Did that to the 3 compartments on my 5er and it is nice.

Did I mention I had the light already laying around? Stop trying to make me spend money.

What switches did you use for your lights? I want to add lights in my storage compartments and want a good type of switch.

I have LED lights in my storage compartments with built in motion detectors. When the outside side door to the the under-seat compartment swings open, the light turns on. They run off 3AAA batteries but could be hard wired with a simple mod of a resistor.

Magnetic switches are quite cheap too and will handle the current required for LED lights. Only a few dollars if you have an electronics shop in town.

This is the motion sensing light I used.
