Furnace Question

Hello

Happy Thanksgiving all! We frequently camp in cold weather (below 20 degrees at night). Last winter we discovered that when we turn on the furnace, somehow the Cool Cat also turns itself on and blows in cold air. We are plugged in at an RV park, and are aware that the heat pump does not work below 40 degrees, which is why we are trying to use the furnace.

We are heading into cold weather next weekend and I can not figure out why the heat pump comes on when we turn the furnace on in really cold weather.

The heat pump doesn't come on in warmer weather when we run the furnace. Does anyone here have any ideas?

Thanks!

The fan has to be in "Auto" at the thermostat for things to work correctly.

Agree with the coolcat AUTO setting else you get continuous cold air.

Us Too

Don't feel bad as we had the same issue too. Thanksgiving was our 2nd trip (first cold weather trip) in our new trailer and we are RV rookies. My wife finally figured it out on the 2nd night. I never would have known to do that and I'm not sure how she figured it out. Our trailer didn't come with a user manual for the furnace/AC systems. That first night sure was noisy and cold. Lol

Happy Camping!

Agree, also if we are going to be plunged in we have a small ele heater that we take, it is so much quieter.
