If you have a hygrometer, check the cells in the old battery. If the specific gravity of the cells is significantly different, it will cause the good cells to boil while trying to bring the weak cells up to charge. Another member just had this issue ( battery tested good on Battery Tester) but cells were imbalanced. New battery and everything is working well I am guessing install of new battery will correct your problem. After about 2 hrs of being plugged in feel battery it feels warm you might have a converter issue.

I bought a waterproof one with a big red key. Then installed it on the battery box. It came with two keys and I keep one tied near rhe box and one in my misc electroni's drawer in the trailer. Sorry don't have the information as to brand. Amazon, eBay, eTrailer and probably others have them. By an extra short battery cable when you get the switch.

Monitor the output voltage of your converter. If it is a triple rate charter, it will be about 14.4 volts for a while during bulk charge then drop down to about 13.6 volts for absorption charge and then when battery is fully charged to about 13.2 volts for float charge to minimize battery outgassing from overcharge.

Many single rate converters which I never recommend using are stuck on a constant 13.8 volts and if plugged in for a long period of time can overcharge a battery causing the battery to boil over.

Personally, if your converter isn't a Progressive Dynamics one, I'd replace it immediately. It is the first thing I do whenever I buy a new trailer.
