Getting ready to go camping with my A128S

It has been a long time since I blogged my camping trip in here. The last long trip was on 2013 and blogged it here:
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...28s-42873.html

I'm planning to go to Tobermory again. I'll camp at my friend's farmhouse, 30 minutes to Tobermory:
Welcome to Tobermory - Tobermory Bruce Peninsula Ontario
I have been visiting this place once a year for more than 20 years, beautiful place for sure.

I think I still remember all the stuff to get my TT and TV ready for the trip. I'll post pics here of my trip for memories to remember.

All the electrical and appliances checked fine. Seals on the widows are still great, I protected them with duck tape.

I saw several black ants inside the TT. I'm planning to take all the stuff out of the trailer when I get to the farmhouse. Hopefully I see where the ants hangout. Any hints on how get rid of the ants will greatly appreciated. I will bring a vacuum to help get rid of them.

I'm leaving tomorrow and I will post more then....

Happy Camping!

Getting ready to go camping with my A128S

Got the bikes up and most of the camping stuff in the trailer:

My bike carrier is designed for 4 but the two bikes took up all the space

Plugged in the TT and turned on the fridge after 8 hours the temperature inside was 5 Celsius, it is ready to be filled up with food and drinks.

I hope hitching the TT tomorrow will be quick, I'm out of practice.

The weather forecast for the next several days is perfect in Tobermory.

I got to the farmhouse last night, the drive with the TT was nice and steady. I drove 2:45 hours before stopping once at Tim Hurtons for a snack. Perfect place to stop before Tobermory:
Tim Hortons

Wow it took me longer to set up the screen room over 45 minutes, I did this less than 30 mins before. All went well on the set up, the BAL leveler helped a lot, approximately 4 inches rise. Only the amber light burned out, it was on for seconds then poofed off. It got cold last night, the furnace kicked in and it wakes me up! I have to get use of this interruption again...

Here are some of the pic of my set up:

Any hints on replacing the Amber light, part number and how to open the case....

I noticed the tinted window is no longer clear from the inside. I wash a little spot with soap and water, still hazy. Looks like sun damaged. The duck tape helps protect the seal:

Me too from the day I first set it up...I use it for my dinning place, BBQ and gas stove cooking. Lol...it got me to a bad habit of leaving the bed permanently setup.

I was planning to have a nice expensive steak for lunch, magu rib eye steak, but it was still frozen solid. Thanks for the TT fridge being too cold...the temperature was at 1 Celsius.

Instead I had a late breakfast for lunch:

Getting ready to go camping with my A128S

I started hanging out at the farmhouse since the summer of 2011 and every time I was there I noticed that my neighbor farm's cows are close to my site watching me around the same time after 6pm.

TIM HORTONS!!! On our last trip to Canada those places were our addiction. We frequently stopped for a cup of coffee and a "biscuit" of some kind. Some towns have more than ONE Tim Horton's. Do you know how long it takes to travel when there is a Tim Hortons' on each side of town??!!??!! You can barely get a cup of coffee drank by the time the next one shows up. As good tourists , we felt obligated to stop at as many as possible.

Getting ready to go camping with my A128S

I came back from my trip Monday night. I'm happy to report that my A128S was very good to me, everything worked out for me and the only part that needs replacing is the amber light. My gas mileage was 14 mpg...

I noticed that the pics I posted earlier in this tread is not displaying anymore. In that case I will limit the number of pics I'll post of my trip later.

I thought camping is relaxing, I sleep late and wake up early, I need a week to get use to the birds singing and the noise from flying/playing around the big tree my TT was stationed underneath, they started singing/making noise around 6:30am, that's when I wake up...and having friends at the campsite did not help...lol

I just did another camping trip to Algonquin Provincial Park for a week. http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/visit...campground.php
My experience there was great, mostly hiking and bike trips. The beach area where we are at was small. There were lots of black bear there but we failed to see one on our sites. They advised us to hide the BBQ grill in the car when not in used. I cheated leaving my BBQ grill attached but it was inside the dining tent.

On the way there the cover of the hot water flew off, does anyone know the part number so I could order it online.

Happy Camping!

I lost one on my old popup. Living near near PPL Motor Homes I bought it there. The kit included the cover and frame.

The Suburban manual for the water heater covers various models and doesn't give a part number. Unless FR has changed the spec you have a SW6D water heater. The model number should be apparent on the unit.

You could phone order from PPL by description or call Suburban to get a part number at 423-775-2131.
