Glamping out the inside of the A-Frame

Having fun this summer with duding up El Beso's interior...we're still in the process of personalizing the small interior....but heres what we have so far...

Would enjoy seeing what others have done in their A's...

Very nice! I'd love to add color to mine (I sew and knit), but hubby is partial to the brown.

We noticed right away that most RVs stick to earth tones, so, since DH *loves* color we decided to use red as a contrast color.

I bought red accent cushions for the sofa for starters and I've added various and sundry touches of red throughout.

One example: as a joke I had a bowl of blown glass cherries here at home (life's been anything but, for us) so I purchased a small stainless bowl and put those in it, on the island sink counter top.

Also have a set of round trays (like you use on soft topped ottoman/coffee tables) with antiqued red inserts in the interior bottom. We use one of those on the arm rest between the recliners when we're snacking. When not in use it sits on the dining table.

I'm 1/4 Cherokee so I'm adding a prayer wheel and a dream catcher with red accents in both.

Haven't had our "4 wheel tee pee" very long so we're still trickin' er out.

Oh, and thanks for using the word "glamping". I'd forgotten about that word....first saw it on one of the cooking shows, where the contestants had to cook for a group of wealthy hunters who were also foodies.

Thanks all for the nice thoughts of my project! DH has stopped asking "why". Haha

HERmit, would love to see your pics! Its hard to not overwhelm the RV space with "too much". The first privacy curtains were a metallic rust color but it made the space feel smaller, so down they went!

Another project for the A-frame this summer --> DH made a rotating solar pole for his TC & will do a similar pole for solar panel for the A Frame.

That is a charming design.

Not being particularly creative or color aware myself, Carly is still exclusively stock and likely to remain with a relativity impersonal decor.

LOL Tom! You sound like my spouse. He's stopped asking "why". For me, after starting off the year with my first three trips in the wind and rain & confined inside the trailer - I decided I would add a few personal touches for mental comfort. Its still stock as well - its all superficial this far. I'd like DH to make a few minor changes inside but nothing too design altering...just small things to make the function of use less annoying.

No pics of my personal touches yet. Our home away from home is at the dealer's right now, having some mostly minor issues taken care of. We are leaving it there until the first of August since we're heading out in that direction anyway for a trip with friends, will just stop by hook up and roll on. And, with no rushing 'em they have plenty of time to get it right. I'll get pics when we have 'er back.

Yes, one must take on a minimalist attitude and mentality re our RVs, lest we end up looking like hoarders on wheels, and of course weight is always to be considered. One thing I've felt important is to use small items from home just for continuity...a small "angel teddy bear" he gave me when we first met sits on the bed, etc.

Ooooh! You either added some pics or I missed some of 'em! I love the inspirational message decals on the walls!

All who wander are not lost!

LOVE THAT!

I purchased a couple but am hesitant to put 'em on the walls. There's large almost-full-length mirror in our bedroom. I'm planning to put one of them there.

Tom,

No need to be officially "color aware"....just add a pop of color here and there, since it appears all FR RVs are monotone/earth tone schemes for the interior.

HERmit, the vinyl words on the walls (came from Wall Quotes, Words, Letters, Decals & Sayings | Vinyl Quotes For Walls) and can be removed with heat from a blowdryer with no damage to wall underneath. I've also ordered from www.wallwords.com and the words can also be removed with blowdryer heat....just make sure your design is level and in the spot you want and go for it. With a large design, whatever you do, avoid the tempation to lift (thinking you are repositioning) as it will cause a wrinkle. haha - I made that mistake when I put the monkeys on the front of my trailer. Its not noticeable unless pointed out, but because I did it- I fixate on that tiny wrinkle. haha

Now if I could just figure out what your avatar is....left my glasses in another part of the house. (chuckle)

Oh dear...just discovered "wallwritten". Our bank account is about to take a huge hit...for the TT and here at home.

I'm a die hard romantic and a die hard Southern cook/foodie... some of those phrases are *so* appropriate for someone like me. (blush) Absolutely adore some of the kitchen phrases.
