Grey water set up

Hi all

I know there are other topics on this but I am look for more specific information. I'm planning a using an aqua-Tainer for my grey water, but I'm wonder what people have used to connect it to the train, specifically measurements or specs if using pvc pipes. Unfortunately had to rush my a122s into the dealership to get some repairs down before my first trip next weekend, so I can't go measure the drain. Any help greatly appreciated!

You don't say what unit you have. What is your grey water drain on the unit?

He has a Rockwood A122s. This may be what you are looking for.
Go to Amazon and look for: Valterra T01-0091VP 1-1/2"x 3/4" 90degree Drain Connector" $5.84

The drain outlet is 1.5 inch MPT.

Here is the link for the garden hose adapter.

On the Aquatainer you can replace the screw in valve with a PVC nipple with a MPT on one side and a MHT on the other. Then set up a hose with FHTs on each end to connect them.

Some have have used 1.5 inch sump pump hose like this.

BTW the drain outlet is 1.5 inch MPT.

I've always gotten a kit from the dealer that included an adapter to change the sink drain on the camper exterior to garden hose. You want flexibility in the hose leading down. Sometimes you will want to use the Aquatainer, other times you will not.

yep .. the kit should have come with the trailer .. to down size to a garden hose ...
a simple mini drill hole at the top of the adapter will allow grey water to flow freely.

The adapter that came with it is too small for a garden hose to connect. There is no threads just a narrow spout, more like what you would connect tubing to, if that makes sense

Mine came with a similar type of connector. Some hose diameters would work with a clamp. But I already had a hose thread right angle adapter and ditched the supplied one.

We use the adapter that came with A-Frame and an Aquatainer for grey water. Here we have two cover sizes for using directly to the campground sewer thereby avoiding putting the trailer's hose in it.

Spouse changed the connection slightly by adding a vent to the grey water Aquatainer grey water connector to facilitate a faster drain and avoiding the times we've had to "burp" the hose line for better drainage. No problems with it since the vent was added.

I particularly like the way the hose is color coordinated with the Aquatainer, Handbuilder.

BTW, trailergirl. If you don't generate much grey water, Relaince has a less bulky 4 gallon Aquatainer. That is what I normally use. Since I do my dishes outside, like the tent campers, I sometimes have no more than a gallon of waste water on a weekend.

Lol, Tom! That's a good one. It definitely wasn't purposeful! Haha

I do want to replace my 50 ft water hose for two 25 foot hoses....maybe I better coordinate those...hee.

Thanks everyone, I ordered the adapter suggest and it should be here next week. I'm also planning on getting the adapter below for when I'm at a site with sewer. Click image for larger version

ID:	74250 I don't expect to have a lot of grey water as it just me and the dog, and because of shift work I can only go for 2 nights max. I will check out the smaller aquatainer!

I already did that part. My hoses are white and flat when not in use.

I also received an adapter from the dealer at the time I bought my A122S. I took it to the hardware store, found a hose that attached to it snugly, put it on the trailer and ran it to bucket initially. I was emptying that too often, so I took my old spare drain tank with the wheels on one end, put it under the trailer, and ran the drain hose into it. That will collect about a week's worth of water. When it's full, I hook it on the truck trailer hitch, tow it to the dump station, and let it go. No muss, no fuss!

My hookup

I finally tested my water hookup today for the sink. Couldn't figure why the water wouldn't flow after I lifted the faucet handle. Then I accidentally twisted the handle and the flow began. The dealer didn't show this when I picked it up because water wasn't in the tank, because of the thread of freezing weather still. I'm really happy with the grey water tank hookup. The hose was supplied in the free goodie bag received from the dealer. I added a brass quick disconnect to the semi-transparent grey water tank. Being brass, it was easy to cut new threads into the tank, as the threads were different.
