How did it go at the dealer? Is Carl ok? Crossing my fingers it was something simple. My friend has a 2013 Rockwood TH & had to replace her water pump (because it kept cycling) and her microwave (because the door wouldnt fully close).

They have Carl for the week. No diagnosis just yet, but I am channeling positive thoughts that it'll be something simple!!!!

We did check out the new high wall a-frame. The lower wall has an additional 4 inches in height, but still doesn't provide enough space for the interior shower. I'm 5'2" and still too tall to stand in the shower. I'm sure I could learn to shower sitting on the commode.

I did like the larger frig with freezer and the additional interior drawer storage. The second kitchen sink was also a nice addition.

It still doesn't have a screen door, but maybe it will appear on a different floor plan - if different floor plans are offered.

I'll post more when we get info on Carl's diagnosis!!

Got a call from the dealer yesterday - they have to run more tests on the frig and furnace. Hmmm, my gut says they haven't even started. But it's only been a week, and our next trip isn't until June so I'm ok....... for now.

Yep, they haven't even started. No one is going to pay them to do more than a couple of hours of diagnosis. And not many techs would start a job like that and not just finish it.

These dealers who think its ok to keep your RV more than 2-3 days are so destroying their industry. We, as owners, should stop putting up with it. Call around and find a shop that will do it right. It's sad that so many people love the "free market" competitive system but we never actually make it function.

Agree with Barry ... service during warrenty work is brutal.
Just with the dealer that i have DEALT with ... they wouldnt take my trailer in for warrenty work because they had emptied out the entire stock yard to turn it into a parkinglot for their parents anniversary ...
yea .. i know ..some will say ... oh thats so nice its a family business ... but hey ... get with it .. its a business ... so ensure your clients are happy .. not just realatives with their parking issues ..
Travelmore Trailers (Ottawa Ontario) ..

Got a call from the dealer today...the furnace's thermal switch wasn't resetting after being turned off - easy fix. The frig "is really sick". The heating coil and the cooling coil were both bad and need to be replaced. We should get him back next weekend. Yay!!!!!!

Gonna have to check out this "high walled" unit....I had no idea. I always thought the A-frames were high walled compared to traditional pop-ups. Glad to hear you'll be getting Carl back sooner than later.

Great news! You'll be out in the woods in no time!! Was there a specific cause for the coils to go bad? He is so new...why would that have happened in such a short time?

Just picked Carl up from the dealer and they fixed the frig problem!! Turns out there was a leak, but no visible "signs". They replaced both the heating and cooling units. The tech said it was a freak thing.

The furnace issue turned out to be the sail switch getting caught on the side of the housing. So they shaved some off and reinstalled it.

We'll do a shakedown of everything in the next few days to verify everything...including install of some new Carl parts too! Nothing major, just some little things like a carpeted step cover, new trailer tongue lock, and grey water sewer adapter.

Happy girl, happy camper!!!!!

Yahoo!! Glad to hear you got your guy back! Carl is freekeeee! haha Would be really interested in seeing what you design for sewer adapter. Carpet on the steps to help remove debris from shoes? Wont that make the steps 'slippery'? Hey, great news for the fridge! Go Carl Go!

The carpet is for debris removal. I hope it doesn't make it slippery!! If it does, it will come off.

Step carpet from Wally World was one of the first additions we made and we wouldn't be without it. Not only reduces the stuff that comes in on our shoes, but the dog will climb that step now. She wouldn't touch it before.

And hey! The step in the photo is different than the one on my older model. Mine is a single step; that looks like two.

Yes, it is 2 steps. We have the toy hauler model which has larger tires, so 2 steps is needed.

Deb & Lee,

This is your influence! Figured if two did this, it must be worth trying....plus I had memories of the last time I was out & shaking the rugs of their debris when I packed up. Thanks! Glad it was an inexpensive add.
